🎣 2025 Indian Lake Kids Fishing Derby – July 1st to July 31st 🎣
FREE Entry for Kids Ages 0–16!
Summer is fast approaching, and we’re thrilled to announce the 3rd Annual Indian Lake Kids Fishing Derby!
Open to all kids under 17, this month-long event is a fun, family-friendly way to get kids outside and enjoy the lake.
Whether you’re a full-time resident or just visiting for a short time, all are welcome to participate!
🐟 Derby Details
- Dates: July 1st – July 31st, 2025
- Ages: 0–16 years (No Michigan fishing license required under age 17)
- Cost: FREE
- Registration Deadline: July 10th
- Register via QR code or email: ilycfishingderby@gmail.com
- Participants must be registered by an adult living on Indian Lake.
- Multiple children may be registered per adult.
👕 Free T-Shirts for All Entrants!
We’re giving out free derby t-shirts to the first 35 registered participants—please include shirt sizes when submitting your registration.
🏆 How the Derby Works
- Participants can fish any time between July 1–31.
- Take a photo of your child with their catch (include a ruler in the photo to show the size of the fish).
- No weighing necessary.
- Submit your best 2 catches per category (up to 6 photos total per child).
- Email all photo submissions to: ilycfishingderby@gmail.com by July 31st.
- Be sure to include the participant’s name and age in your email.
🎣 Age Groups & Fish Categories
Age Groups:
- 0–5 years
- 6–8 years
- 9–11 years
- 12–16 years
Fish Categories:
- Largest Bass
- Largest Panfish (bluegill, sunfish, crappie)
- Most Unique Species (pike, gar, bowfin, carp, etc.)
Our judges will review the submissions and select a winner in each age and category—but every participant will be a winner and receive recognition for their efforts!
